Privacy Policy

BangBangMiao (“we”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the BangBangMiao app on iOS and Android.

1. Information we collect

• Account: A user identifier from sign-in — Sign in with Apple on iOS, or Google Sign-In on Android; optional nickname, family role, and avatar choice.
• Household & tasks: Household name, invite code, task titles/notes, assignees, due/reminder times, thank-you messages, and similar data.
• Device & notifications: Device tokens for push reminders, platform (iOS / Android), language, and timezone.
• Feedback: Feedback text, image or video attachments you choose to submit, together with your nickname, household identifier, app version, build number, and submission time.
• Speech & smart organize: If you use voice input, speech is converted to text by on-device / system speech recognition (Apple Speech on iOS; system / Google speech recognition on Android). Confirmed text may be sent to our servers and processed by a third-party AI (Google Gemini) to fill task fields. Audio is not uploaded to our servers for training.
• Usage: To control AI cost, we record each user’s daily AI call count.
• Analytics & diagnostics: To understand feature usage, maintain reliability, and fix problems, we may use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to collect usage events, crash logs, diagnostics, device and operating-system information, app version, and related identifiers.

2. How we use information

• Provide household task creation, sync, reminders, and completion notices;
• Provide smart organization after speech-to-text;
• Keep the service secure and prevent abuse;
• Respond to feedback, troubleshoot problems, and improve the product;
• Meet applicable law and app store requirements (including the App Store and Google Play, such as account deletion).

3. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share necessary data with providers that help run the service:

• Firebase (Google): authentication, database, cloud functions, file storage, push, usage analytics, and crash diagnostics;
• Google Gemini: processes task text only when you trigger Smart Organize;
• Apple (iOS): sign-in and system speech recognition (if you use them);
• Google (Android): sign-in and system speech recognition services (if you use them).

We require service providers that process data for us to use protections consistent with this policy and applicable law. We do not use your data to track you across apps or websites, and we do not sell personal information.

Members of the same household can see tasks and member profiles (nickname, role, avatar) in that household.

4. Retention & deletion

Account profiles, household membership, device tokens, and AI usage records are generally kept while you use the service. Tasks and household data are kept while the household exists. Feedback and attachments are kept as needed for support, troubleshooting, and product improvement. Analytics and crash diagnostics follow the provider’s retention mechanisms and are deleted or de-identified when no longer needed.

You can delete your account in the app under Settings → Delete account. After deletion, we remove your sign-in account, profile, device tokens, AI usage records, and the feedback and attachments you submitted, and remove you from the household. If you are the last member, the household and its tasks are also deleted. If other members remain, the household and shared tasks remain so their shared records continue to work.

5. Your choices & permissions

You can disable notifications, microphone, speech recognition, or photo access in iOS or Android system settings. Disabling a permission may prevent the related feature from working. You can also choose not to use Smart Organize, or use in-app account deletion and the contact information below to request access to, correction of, or deletion of account-related data.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Share household invite codes only with people you trust.

7. Children

The app is meant for everyday family coordination. If you believe we collected a child’s personal information by mistake, contact us so we can delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy and will show the new last-updated date on this page. Where appropriate, we will provide notice of material changes in the app or by another reasonable method.
